NetWare Core Protocols

Overview

NetWare Core Protocols are the collective set of routines and primitives that drive NetWare. Most often these routines are referred to as the NCPs. Each routine is also referred to individually as an NCP.

The NCPs make up the fundamental language that NetWare speaks and allow a Novell Client and a NetWare server to converse. Each NCP is known by its number. The name is only to describe the task that the NCP performs; otherwise it has no meaning.
