In ConsoleOne, you can configure the GWIA to reject messages in certain situations:
Messages are received from known open relay hosts or spam hosts (GWIA object > ).
Messages are received from any hosts that you specifically do not want to receive messages from (GWIA object > ).
Messages are received through an anti-spam service that uses an “X” header field to identify potential spam (GWIA object > ).
Thirty messages are received within 10 seconds from the same sending host (GWIA object > ). The number of message and the time interval can be modified to identify whatever you consider to be a potential mailbomb.
Messages are received from SMTP hosts that are not using the AUTH LOGIN host authentication method (/forceinboundauth startup switch).
The sender’s identify cannot be verified (GWIA object > ).
For detailed setup instructions on these anti-spam security measures, see Section 54.2, Blocking Unwanted Email from the Internet.
Messages that are identified as spam by the GWIA are not accepted into your GroupWise system.
