7.6 GroupWise Agent Installation Worksheet

Explanation

1) Agent Platform:

  • NetWare

  • Linux

  • Windows

Mark the platform where you are installing the GroupWise agents.

For more information, see Section 7.3.1, Selecting the Agent Platform

2) Agents and Locations:

POA:

  • Local to post office

  • Different server from post office

    /dn setting (NetWare only)

MTA:

  • Local to domain

  • Different server from domain

    /dn setting (NetWare only)

Mark the agents you want to install and where you want to install them.

On NetWare, if you want to install the agents on a server different from where their directories and databases are located, specify the settings for the /dn switches in the agent startup files so that the agents can access the remote servers.

3) Installation Path:

Specify the directory where you want to install the agent software.

For more information, see Section 7.3.3, Selecting the Agent Installation Directory.

4) Configure GroupWise Agents for Clustering: Yes | No

This item applies to the NetWare and Linux agents.

Mark whether or not you want to configure the agents for clustering on Novell Cluster Services.

For more information, see Section 7.3.6, NetWare Installation Options: Automatic Startup and Clustering or Section 7.3.7, Linux Installation Option: Clustering.

5) Language:

List the languages you want to install.

For more information, see Section 7.3.5, Deciding Which Languages to Install.

6) Domain Information:

List the domain you are installing the MTA for.

7) Post Office Information:

  • Post office name:

List the post office you are installing the POA for.

8) Installation Options:

  • Install GroupWise agent software: Yes | No

  • Install and configure SNMP for GroupWise agents: Yes | No

  • Install as Windows services: Yes | No

This item applies only if you are installing the Windows agents.

Mark the installation options you want when you install the Windows agents.

9) Windows Service Information:

Account type:

  • Use local system account Allow service to interact with desktop: Yes | No

  • Use this Windows user account: User name: Password:

Startup type:

  • Automatic

  • Manual

  • Disabled

This item applies only if you are installing the Windows agents.

If you are installing the Windows agents as services, mark the type of account they can use to log in.

If needed, specify the Windows user account they can run under.

Also mark whether you want them to be started automatically or manually each time the Windows server restarts.

10) Update AUTOEXEC File:

This item applies only if you are installing the NetWare agents.

Mark whether or not you want the Agent Installation program to configure the NetWare server so that the GroupWise agents start automatically whenever the server is started.

11) Launch GroupWise Agents Now:

Mark whether or not the Agent Installation program can start the agents for you at the end of the installation process.

12) Launch in Protected Mode:

Yes | No

This item applies only if you are installing the NetWare agents.

Mark whether or not you want the Agent Installation program to start the NetWare agents in Protected Mode on NetWare 5.1 or later.
