3.5 Notes Gateway Installation Worksheet

Explanation

1) Notes Gateway Location:

  • Notes/Domino server

  • Other server (recommended)

Mark where you will install the Notes Gateway. You should plan to install the Notes Gateway on a server other than the Notes/Domino server if you will enable directory exchange and synchronization. See Deciding Where to Install the Notes Gateway.

2) Domain Server Type:

  • NetWare

  • Windows

Mark the platform of the server where the gateway’s domain is located. See Gathering GroupWise System Information.

3) eDirectory Information:

  • Tree

  • Domain Object Context

Specify the eDirectory tree and context where the Domain object is located. The Notes Gateway object will be created in the Domain object. See Gathering GroupWise System Information

4) GroupWise Domain Information:

  • Domain Name

  • Domain Directory

Specify the domain name and directory. The Notes Gateway will be installed in a subdirectory under the domain. See Gathering GroupWise System Information

5) Gateway Information:

  • Gateway Object Name

  • Gateway Directory

Specify the name of the Notes Gateway object and the subdirectory in the domain where the Notes Gateway software will be installed. The default is Notes. See Choosing a Gateway Name

6) Monitoring Options:

  • Notes Gateway Web console

  • SNMP monitoring program

Mark how you want to monitor the Notes Gateway. See Deciding How to Monitor the Notes Gateway.

7) Gateway Installation Method:

  • Application

  • Service

Mark whether you want to install the Notes Gateway as a Windows application or an Windows service. See Deciding between Windows Application and Windows Service. If you want to install it as a service, provide a username and password of the Windows account that will own the service.

8) Enable SNMP?

  • Yes

Mark whether you want to enable SNMP. See Deciding How to Monitor the Notes Gateway.

9) Install Gateway Administrator Snap-In to ConsoleOne?

  • Yes

    ConsoleOne Path:

    GroupWise Administrator Snap-In Version: 6.5 or 7.x

  • No

Mark whether you want to install the Notes Gateway Administrator snap-in to ConsoleOne at the same time when you install the Notes Gateway. If you do, record the path where ConsoleOne and the GroupWise Administrator snap-ins to ConsoleOne are currently installed, along with the version of the GroupWise Administrator snap-ins. See Determining Where to Install the Notes Gateway Administrator Snap-In to ConsoleOne.

10) Foreign Domain Representing GroupWise System in Notes:

Specify the name you want to use in the Notes system to represent the GroupWise system. See Determining Gateway Links between Systems

11) Notes/Domino Server Access Information:

  • Notes/Domino Server

  • Administrator Password

  • Notes Certifier Server

  • Certifier Password

  • Username for Notes Gateway
