This release includes the following new features:
Changes to the Update Agent to allow you to deploy new property page settings. For more information, see Section 5.3, Setting Properties on Multiple Workstations after Installation.
Changes to Automatic Client Upgrade that allow you to enable the Update Agent on multiple workstations without running a complete software installation. For more information, see Enabling the Novell Client Update Agent by Using ACU Without Installing Novell Client Software.
Changes to the Novell Client Update Agent and Automatic Client Upgrade to allow components to be uninstalled. For more information, see Section 9.2, Uninstalling Network Components Using Update Agent or ACU.
Unicode* filenaming in mixed language environments.
Implementation of the Novell Universal Password (also know as the NDS® Login Method), available in NetWare 6.5 and later, which provides more robust and strong password and password management so users can create a common password that can be used by all protocols for authentication. Also included are support for password hints, administrator messages, and password requirements. For more information, see Section 6.2, Managing Passwords. For more information on disabling NMAS and NICI, see Section 2.6, Configuring Security Authentication.
Support for the NetIdentity agent
The NetIdentity agent can be installed with the Novell Client or as a separate installation. It provides background authentication to Windows Web-based applications that require Novell eDirectory™ authentication, such as iPrint, Novell Virtual Office, and NetStorage.
Windows NT* is no longer supported.
