The Novell Storage Services™ Management Utility (NSSMU) is a console-based utility for managing NSS storage media on a server. You can use it at any time as an alternative to the browser-based iManager Storage Management plug-in.
NSSMU is the interface you use to set up your basic NSS storage solution during the NetWare installation. For example, you must use NSSMU to create the sys pool and sys: volume.
For OES NetWare, you can set up iSCSI partitions using the Partitions option in the main menu in NSSMU. You must have iSCSI target software loaded to make your server an iSCSI disk server. You cannot create iSCSI devices during the initial installation. For more information, see the NW 6.5 SP8: iSCSI 1.1.3 Administration Guide.
For OES NetWare, you can use NSSMU and Novell Remote Manager to create encrypted volumes. Encryption is an optional volume attribute, available only at volume-creation time. An encrypted volume meets the legal standard of making data inaccessible to software that circumvents normal access control, such as if the media were stolen. You cannot create encrypted volumes during the installation. The sys: volume is not eligible for encryption.
IMPORTANT:NSSMU is not meant to replace iManager or any other NetWare file system management utilities. However, it is the only management tool that can access your server if you accidentally delete or rename the sys: volume.
Load the NSSMU module (nssmu.nlm)from the command line of the server console by entering
