You can use the procedure in this section if you need to rebuild a node and want to use the same node name and IP address of the node it replaces.
If the Cluster object for the old server is still present, delete the object and force the cluster to recognize that the node has been permanently removed.
In the SAN, assign the shared storage array and devices to the replacement server before you install Novell Cluster Services.
Install the OES platform and apply the latest patches. Ensure that you use the same node name and IP address of the node that was previously in the cluster.
Install Novell Cluster Services on the replacement server.
Section 5.4.3, Installing Novell Cluster Services on an Existing OES Server.
On the Novell Open Enterprise Server Configuration page under Novell Cluster Services, locate the Novell Cluster Services link, enable the configuration, then click the Novell Cluster Services link to open the Novell Cluster Services Configuration wizard.
For information see, Section 5.5.4, Accessing the Novell Cluster Services Configuration Page in YaST.
Configure the replacement node for the existing cluster. The settings should be the same as those for the old server.
See Section 5.5.6, Adding a Node to an Existing Cluster.
After you restart Novell Cluster Services, the replacement server assumes its old identity in the cluster.
