Novell Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) for Linux is available for Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) 11 SP3.
After you set up Novell AFP on the Linux node and before you finalize the NetWare-to-Linux conversion, use the AFP function in the Migration Tool to convert the configuration. See Migrating AFP to OES 11 SP3
in the OES 11 SP3: Migration Tool Administration Guide.
The commands in the scripts are also different. After the migration, modify the load and unload scripts on the Linux server. See Section 3.6, Comparing File Access Protocol Commands in NSS Pool Resource Scripts.
AFP on Linux supports NCP cross-protocol file locking, which allows NCP, AFP, and CIFS users to access files on an NSS volume concurrently without data corruption by locking the files across protocols. On Linux, the cross-protocol file locking parameter for NCP Server is enabled by default. Verify that the Cross-Protocol File Locking parameter is enabled on each node in the cluster if you plan to give both NCP users and AFP users access to NSS volume in the cluster. See Configuring Cross-Protocol File Locks for NCP Server
in the OES 11 SP3: NCP Server for Linux Administration Guide.
