For manual deployments, a ZCM agent binary is needed, which can be downloaded from the ZCM server. Depending on the architecture and the Java environment installed on the target system, four different ZCM agent versions are available. In addition, a ZCM agent can be self-created, based on one of the four existing ZCM agents, so you can manually configure registration keys and zone settings.
The agent can be downloaded from ZENworks Configuration Management by using the Download ZENworks Tools link in the left frame. This link appears only if the Configuration entry has already been selected.

The next figure displays the four different agent versions. To reduce the amount of traffic, the Network Agent is preferred. This version of the agent requires a fully functional JRE already installed on the target system. You need to test whether the existing JRE at the devices is agent compatible before deploying this version of the agent.

The downloaded binary must be flagged executable and must be called from the command line:
./PreAgentPkg_AgentLinuxComplete.bin -G -k <location_key>
Several installation options are available. For instance, you can use the -k option to specify a registration key during installation. In addition, Novell Consulting recommends that you use the -G option to prevent the installation of packages that require X.
