Configure a custom hardware type |

Specify a name for the custom type in the field.

Specify a string in the field, then click to add it to the list box.

Repeat Step 2 for each BIOS string to be added to this custom type.

Click to exit the dialog box.

Click (located at the bottom of the configuration page) to save your new custom type.

The new custom type does not display in the Rule Construction dialog box until you have clicked to save it.
The strings you can enter are anything that you want to match in the device’s BIOS. |
Edit a custom hardware type |

In the Custom Hardware Type dialog box, to edit the custom hardware type’s name, edit the name in the field.

To edit a string in the list, select it, then click .

In the Edit String dialog box, edit the string, then click .

Click to exit the dialog box.

Click (located at the bottom of the configuration page) to save your custom type changes.

Rearrange the order of the strings in the list |

In the Custom Hardware Type dialog box, select one string, then click either or .

Repeat as necessary to arrange the order of the strings.

Click to exit the dialog box.

Click (located at the bottom of the configuration page) to save your custom type changes.

You cannot move multiple strings at a time. |
Remove strings from the list |

In the Custom Hardware Type dialog box, select one or more strings, then click .

Click to exit the dialog box.

Click (located at the bottom of the configuration page) to save your custom type changes.

You can use the Ctrl or Shift keys to select multiple strings to remove them from the list. |
