D.5 Assigning the Bundles and Scheduling the Upgrades

Complete the following procedures to prepare your servers to be upgraded to OES 11 SP1. The actual upgrade operations occur automatically as scheduled.

D.5.1 Assigning the SLES11-SP2-Core Bundle to the OES 11 Servers

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.

  2. Click SLES11-SP2-Core.

  3. In the left column, select the SLES11-SP2-Core-bundle entry.

  4. Click Action > Assign to Device.

  5. Click the down-arrow next to Servers, then select the servers you want to assign the bundle to.

  6. Click OK > Next.

  7. Select the Distribution Schedule and click Next.

  8. Select the Schedule type as Now and click Next.

    IMPORTANT:Do not select Install Immediately after Distribution or Launch Immediately after Installation.

  9. Select Next > Finish.

D.5.2 Assigning the OES11-SP1-Pool Bundle to the OES 11 Servers

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.

  2. Click OES11-SP1-Pool.

  3. In the left column, select the OES11-SP1-Pool-bundle entry.

  4. Click Action > Assign to Device.

  5. Click the down-arrow next to Servers, then select the servers you want to assign the bundle to.

  6. Click OK > Next.

  7. Select the Distribution Schedule and click Next.

  8. Select the Schedule type as Now and click Next.

    IMPORTANT:Do not select Install Immediately after Distribution or Launch Immediately after Installation.

  9. Select Next > Finish.

D.5.3 Assigning the SLES11-SP2-Updates Bundle to the OES 11 Servers

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.

  2. Click SLES11-SP2-Updates.

  3. In the left column, select the SLES11-SP2-Updates-bundle entry.

  4. Click Action > Assign to Device.

  5. Click the down-arrow next to Servers, then select the servers you want to assign.

  6. Click OK > Next.

  7. Select the Distribution Schedule and click Next.

  8. Select the Schedule type as Now and click Next.

    IMPORTANT:Do not select Install Immediately after Distribution or Launch Immediately after Installation.

  9. Select Next > Finish.

D.5.4 Assigning the OES11Upgrade Bundle to the OES 11 Servers

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.

  2. In the left column, select the OES11Upgrade entry.

  3. Click Action > Assign to Device.

  4. Click the down-arrow next to Servers, then select the servers you want to assign the bundle to.

  5. Click OK > Next.

  6. Select the Distribution Schedule and click Next.

  7. Select the appropriate distribution type and select Install Immediately after Distribution.

  8. Click Next > Finish.

    IMPORTANT:The servers you selected in the preceding steps are now ready to be upgraded to OES 11 SP1. The actual upgrade operations occur automatically as scheduled.

    WARNING:Make sure that the SLES11-SP2-Core, OES11-SP1-Pool and SLES11-SP2-Updates bundles have been applied before applying the OES11Upgrade bundle.
