A.1 GroupWise 18 and later Versions with Earlier GroupWise Versions

Table Summary: The GroupWise Administration Console can be used to access GroupWise 2012 databases for domains and post offices, but GroupWise 2012 ConsoleOne with the GroupWise snap-ins should not be used to access GroupWise 18 and later version databases. The Administration Console does not access GroupWise eDirectory objects. You must continue to use ConsoleOne with the GroupWise snap-ins to access GroupWise objects in eDirectory.

Table Summary: GroupWise 2012 agents cannot access domain and post office databases that have been upgraded to GroupWise 18. When a GroupWise 18 MTA or POA accesses an earlier GroupWise database, it has no effect on the database. You must use the Installation console to upgrade domain and post office databases to a GroupWise 18 or later version.

Table Summary: The GroupWise 2012 client can communicate with the GroupWise 18 POA, but the GroupWise 18 or later version client cannot communicate with the GroupWise 2012 POA. The general rule is that earlier GroupWise clients can always communicate with later POAs, but later GroupWise clients cannot communicate with earlier POAs. GroupWise clients include the Windows client and GroupWise Web.
