To begin using GroupWise, you or your system administrator must install GroupWise on your Mac or Linux computer.

in the GroupWise 8 Installation Guide.
Insert the GroupWise 8 DVD into the DVD drive of your Mac workstation.
Double-click the CDROM icon that appears on your desktop.
Double-click the mac folder, then double-click the GroupWise .dmg file.
Drag the GroupWise package from the DVD to the Applications folder to install the software on your Mac.
Drag the GroupWise package from the Applications folder to the dock to create a GroupWise icon there for convenient access.
Continue with Starting GroupWise.
If you are installing GroupWise on SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 11, you need to manually install the libstdc++33 library.
If you are installing GroupWise on another type of Linux or a version of SLED other than SLED 11, continue with Installing the Client.
To install the libstdc++33 library:
On the Linux desktop, click
> to launch the YaST Control Center.Click
> .In the search field, type libstdc++33, then select it when it appears in the section.
Click
> .Continue with Installing the Client.
Insert the GroupWise 8 DVD into the DVD drive of your Linux workstation.
There might be a pause as Linux reads the DVD.
If you are prompted to allow auto-run, click
.Specify the root password, then click .
There might be a pause before the GroupWise Installation program starts.
If it doesn’t start:
Double-click the CDROM icon on your desktop.
Double-click the linux folder, double-click the GroupWise install script, then click .
Select the language in which you want to run the Installation program and install the client software, then click
.Click
> .When the installation is complete, click
, then close the Installation program.For your convenience, a GroupWise icon is automatically created on your desktop.
