Novell CIFS for OES 2 SP2 or later supports DFS junctions, but you must enable DFS support and configure it. By default, DFS junction support is disabled.
Junctions from Linux to NetWare system work only when the junction target is the root of the volume. However if both the source and target is on a Linux system, then junctions to subdirectories also work.
Unicode must be enabled. By default, Unicode is enabled on your Linux servers.
DFS support is enabled only at server-level.
For Novell CIFS on OES 2015 or later servers, you can map to CIFS shares using either the IP address or server name. Junctions that point to subdirectories are now supported.
In iManager, click File Protocols > CIFS.
For instructions, see Section 8.1.2, Accessing iManager.
Browse to locate and select the Linux server you want to manage.
For instructions, see Section 8.1.4, Selecting a Server to Manage.
On the Server properties page, select the Distributed File Services (DFS) Support check box to enable DFS for CIFS on the selected server.
Click OK to save the setting.
NOTE:You can also enable DFS support for the CIFS server with the novcifs command line utility --dfs-support=yes|no.
