For security reasons, your corporation’s e-mail system might be set up to automatically delete messages from internal users that are not sent from the corporate e-mail system. If your corporate e-mail system is configured in this way, e-mail messages and notifications sent from Novell Vibe are automatically deleted.
You can configure Vibe to send e-mail messages and notifications directly from the Vibe server, rather than from internal users. For example, when a user shares a workspace with another Vibe user, a notification is sent to the receiving user’s e-mail mailbox. By default, this notification is sent from the internal user. However, you can configure Vibe to send such messages from the Vibe server itself. Configuring Vibe in this way enables e-mail messages and notifications to be sent from Vibe, while maintaining the same level of security for your corporation.
By default, Vibe is configured to send messages from individual users in the following scenarios:
When sending a workflow notification, as described in Adding On-Entry or On-Exit Events
in the Novell Vibe OnPrem 3.1 Advanced User Guide.
When sharing an entry, folder, or workspace, as described in Sharing Workspaces, Folders, and Entries
in the Novell Vibe OnPrem 3.1 User Guide.
When creating an entry, as described in Creating a Folder Entry
in the Novell Vibe OnPrem 3.1 User Guide.
You can configure Vibe to send e-mail messages and notifications from an external address for an individual zone or for the entire Vibe site:
Change to the following directory:
Make a backup copy of the ssf-ext.properties file, which is located in the same directory as the ssf.properties file.
Open the ssf.properties file in a text editor.
Search for the following line:
ssf.outgoing.from.address.<zone name>=zoned@company.com
Open the ssf-ext.properties file in a text editor.
Copy the ssf.outgoing.from.address.<zone name>=zoned@company.com line from the ssf.properties file to the bottom of the ssf-ext.properties file.
Replace <zone name> with the name of the Vibe zone that you want e-mail messages to be addressed from and edit the e-mail address to reflect your company’s e-mail.
For example, if the name of your Vibe zone is kablink, and the name of your company is greenergy, the line would read:
ssf.outgoing.from.address.kablink=zone@greenergy.com
Save and close the ssf-ext.properties file.
Close the ssf.properties file without saving it.
Stop and restart Vibe.
