Introduction

This quick procedure takes you through setting up the remote management policy for the workstation; later we'll cover the related policy that affects users. After creating the policy, you will control a remote workstation from your server, and investigate the remote diagnostics tool.

Permanence of This Setup

This procedure will create a workstation policy in the DA_Tree eDirectory tree.

Dependencies

This procedure assumes that you have completed Automatic Workstation Import , because remotely managing a workstation requires a corresponding workstation object in eDirectory^TM.

Requirements

To perform the steps in this lab, you will need:

Hardware (Minimum):

• A ZENworks workstation imported into eDirectory.
• A Windows* machine from which to run ConsoleOne^®. If you have a ZENworks for Desktops server set up according to Installing ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 your server will work excellently.
