The Novell ZENworks File Upload plug-in must be installed on the device before you can browse for file paths and upload files.
To install the Novell ZENworks File Upload plug-in:
Click Install Novell ZENworks File Upload plug-in. A pop-up displays the following message:
Do you want to continue downloading and Installing the Novell ZENworks File Upload plug-in? For the plug-in to work, restart the browser after Installation.
Click OK.
Click Save file to save the ZENworks File Upload Plug-in.msi file.
Click OK.
Click Install Now, then restart the Web browser.
Perform the required browser configuration. For details, see Browser Configurations.
Perform Step1 and Step 2 in the On Windows Devices section.
Click Save file to save the novell zenworks fileupload plugin.rpm file.
Click Continue Anyway.
Click Install to install the rpm file.
In the Authentication pop-up, enter the password for root.
NOTE:On Linux devices, only the root user can install the plug-ins.
Click Authenticate.
Browse for the installed rpm file, then click OK.
Perform the required browser configuration. For details, see Browser Configurations.
NOTE:Close and open all browsers after installing the Novell ZENworks File Upload plug-in. This is applicable for both Linux and Windows devices.

Configure the following settings for the browser to allow the Novell ZENworks File Upload Plug-in to perform advance operations such as third party imaging support, large file upload, and directory upload:
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npZENworksFileUploadPlugin.dll = false
dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs = 300
dom.max_script_run_time =300
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled = false
NOTE:Without the browser settings listed above, the Novell ZENworks File Upload plug-in might crash. For more information, see mozillaZine The dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npZENworksFileUploadPlugin.dll = false setting is not applicable for Linux devices.
To add or modify the configuration settings of the Novell ZENworks File Upload Plug-in:
Open Firefox, then type about:config in the address bar. The following warning message is displayed:
Changing these advanced settings can be harmful to the stability, security and performance of this application.You should only continue if you are sure of what you are doing.
Click I’ll be careful, I promise.
Type in one of the following Firefox browser settings in the search bar:
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npZENworksFileUploadPlugin.dll
dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs
dom.max_script_run_time
If one of the settings listed above is available, modify the required value for the same. If it is not found, add them.
NOTE:Increase the time value of the following to perform imaging operations or if the performance of the PC is low:
dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs
dom.max_script_run_time
The Novell ZENworks File Upload Plug-in will not work for Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and later versions if there is no proper ActiveX filtering and third- party plug-in setting.
To enable the Novell ZENworks File Upload Plug-in to work in Internet Explorer:
Go to Tools, then uncheck ActiveX Filtering if it is enabled.
Click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab
Under Browsing, check Enable third-party browser extension.
