Ximian Red Carpet Enterprise

The software that enables you to centrally control Linux software configurations for both servers and workstations, including the ability to manage users and organize groups of machines for installations and updates; Integrate with leading software update systems such as SUSE YaST and Red Hat Network; roll back software packages to pre-update versions if unintended problems are caused by the update; and automatically resolve software package requirements before updating to ensure that all dependencies are met.

XML

An open standard for describing and defining data elements on a Web page and business-to-business documents. It uses a tag structure similar to HTML, but XML allows tags to be defined by the developer of the page. Thus, virtually any data items can be identified, allowing Web pages to function like database records.

XML Proxy Service

In Desktop Management and Server Management, a Java servlet used to proxy XMLRPC requests to other private networks across a non-secured connection.

XTier

An authentication framework that resides on the ZENworks Desktop Management Middle Tier server. XTier is utilized by several of Novell's Web-based applications to provide secure authentication to corporate servers across an Internet connection.
