Uninstalling eDirectory on Linux or Solaris Systems

Use the nds-uninstall utility to uninstall eDirectory components from Linux or Solaris systems. The uninstall utility uninstalls eDirectory from the local host.

  1. Execute the nds-uninstall command.

    The utility lists the installed components.

  2. Select the required component.

The following section provides information about uninstalling eDirectory components:

IMPORTANT:  If the Linux or Solaris system you are installing Novell eDirectory 8.6 on already has NDS 8.0 components installed on it, you can use the nds80-uninstall utility to uninstall NDS 8.0 components, and the nds-uninstall utility to uninstall eDirectory 8.6 components. If your system already has NDS eDirectory 8.5 components installed on it, you can use the nds85-uninstall utility to uninstall NDS eDirectory 8.5 components. Uninstallation does not remove NICI 2.3.


Using the nds-uninstall Utility to Uninstall eDirectory Components

To uninstall eDirectory components:

  1. Use the following syntax:

    nds-uninstall -c component1 [[-c component2]...] [-h]

If you do not provide the required parameters in the command line, the nds-install utility will prompt for the parameters.

nds-uninstall Parameter Description

-h

Displays the help strings.

-c

Specifies the component that is to be uninstalled. More than one component can be uninstalled by using the -c option multiple times.


Examples

To uninstall eDirectory Server packages, enter the following command:

nds-uninstall -c server
