2.9 What’s New (Initial NetWare 6.5 Release)

In this release, we updated the interface for Novell Remote Manager to make it look and work like other utilities in NetWare 6.5.

You can access other network and server management tools.

If iManager is installed, configured, and running on the server, you can access it quickly by clicking the iManager icon in the Header frame.

The Welcome to NetWare 6.5 Administration page has links to other management tools accessible from a browser. You can access this page by clicking the Admin Welcome page icon in the header frame.

Understanding the Layout of Novell Remote Manager.

Access

You can:

  • Allow limited access to your server for debugging by enabling a special debug user.

  • Add a custom disclaimer or a text screen to be displayed and approved by the user before logging in to Novell Remote Manager.

  • Log in to Novell Remote Manager using extended characters.

    Previous versions used the browser interface for the login. In NetWare 6.5, the login uses an html form that allows the use of extended characters.

You can change the rollover size of server health logs and HTTP logs and alarms or errors that are logged.

  • Restore the default threshold values for the all operations listed or access a specific operation and restore the default values for the specific operation.

  • Configure a trigger to delay the time before the health status changes the traffic light for the overall health monitor.

  • Compare server up time. For servers running clusters, you can also track the volume up time.
